A bench is much more satisfactory than a stool as it is large enough to permit two to sit side by side when playing duets and provides a place for music in the compartment or box directly under the seat. Because of its length it makes a better appearance In front of a piano and seems more appropriate than a stool. The long horizontal lines of the piano bench echo or repeat the horizontal lines of the piano and thus it makes a most suitable companion piece to the piano. The piano bench here shown and described is of rather unusual construction with its solid ends and resembles the bench usually associated with an organ.
